Adidas brand will complete its acquisition of Reebok ahead of schedule

Adidas may complete the acquisition of US$3.8 billion of Reebok International, a US sports equipment giant, ahead of schedule.

A spokeswoman for Adidas said that Reebok will hold an important meeting on January 25 to get shareholder approval.

The European Commission has approved the deal, and the antitrust evaluation of the European Commission will also end in January, indicating that the deal may be completed at that time. The spokeswoman reminded that there are still some issues that may “reject the signing”, and the original final date was the first half of 2006.

Antitrust authorities in the United States have approved the acquisition in October.
